I suspect that simply because they no longer make the Esoteric-Mexcel 8N-A2000. When they did, you would have never received the recommendation from Esoteric or Mexcel to use 75 where 50 belongs. I know this from personal experience a couple years ago....
BTW....the Alpha Clock50 is well worth a try!
