I believe that's an inaccurate statement. Unless I am mistaken the woofers of the Hammer are of exactly the same design as those of the Watchdog subwoofer which are the woofers used in the Master Subsonic. Those woofers are 12 inch. The Hammer's are 15 inch, much larger and heavier than a Watchdog woofer. In absolute terms the low frequency output of a Thor will be considerably more than that of a Subsonic which only has (3) 12 inch Watchdog woofers in a cabinet that is about the same in volume. The Thor is considerably more sensitive (2 db) than a Susbonic and will have almost twice the output at extremely low frequencies. Frankly, the Subsonics are too heavy and insensitive for my liking. I would have preferred a new upgraded larger driver in a less heavy cabinet.

Charles, the Master Subsonic was created after the WAMM was. Dave wanted a more ideal match to the WAMM than the Thors provided. That is the reason Master Subsonic exists.

Without more information and/or the disclaimer all other thing being equal (they are not), cabinet size and driver size are indicators, nothing more. Details do matter.
