The "regular" Innovation Wood is great too. I had a black one before I bought this table. The bigger differences to be had are in providing proper isolation, applying great record/stylus hygiene (I got a Clearaudio Double Matrix Sonic Pro shortly after the TT upgrade), and finding the right arm + cartridge match for your tastes. I can highly recommend the Shelter Harmony on a CA 12" Universal! Great synergy there, which only increases further into the VAC Renaissance phono stage. The Koetsu Coralstone on Graham Phantom ain't bad either, but the Shelter/Universal certainly the better value (and more resolving).

Also CA changed the pulley/belt sometime after I bought my original Innovation in 2013 (it had the rounded clear spaghetti belt) - the new pulley is said to improve performance, and it's available for the Innovation if you still have the old one.
