I think it sounds excellent. Wyred 4 Sound modifies the digital output to reduce jitter. Are there better implementations out there, possibly. But this is hands down a no brainer and can stream anything you can think of at the touch of a finger. You can point your music collection to it, it up-samples to 24/96 and outputs via toslink or s/pdif (what I am using). Works like a charm and with MOG or Spotify you get 320kbps or any of your music output in higher quality. I have not done strict A/B comparisons but I use it right now for the majority of my listening. Almost makes me think a computer based setup is unnecessary and a lot more work
