Tis true, while Roon now recognizes the MQA but streams at 48kHz, I can just as easily have the Tidal app open on my desktop and listen to the same album in 96kHz. This is with my DragonFly DAC. With the DragonFly DAC I do not hear any benefit of doing so, in fact I find the DSP of Roon much more useful for most recordings and I have access to all my EQ I cooked up for my various headphones if I choose to use it. Of course I listen to my Gungnir Multbit DAC with Roon for a much better SQ anyways. YMMV.
