Been there this past April/May and the "hi end" audio on offer on the local scene in Panama was extremely disappointing. Lots of appliance stores items and little real quality, regretfully.

It might take some time for people there to refine their audio tastes. I have several friends in Panama who are very sophisticated regarding wine, cigars, scotch, food...but not audio
