I found the TS KT150s required some break in on my Inspire Hot Rod before they started to smooth out a little. That's been the case with any my new TS front end tubes too. And, for whatever reason - more responsive to interconnect changes than I would have anticipated. Noticed the same with TS KT150s on some other amps I listened to recently.
