dCS Barṭk streaming DAC with or without built-in headphone amp.
- is continually software updated (no need to buy a new box if new digital or streaming formats turn up)
- can directly drive a power amp (no need for a preamp)
- streaming can be controlled via dCS proprietary app (Mosaic) or other (e.g. Roon)
- currently supports MQA

That setup wouldn't work if you have an analog source. You would still need a preamp in that case.
I currently have a C-2110 and I think it's time for an upgrade. I like the SS preamp married to a tube power amp so I will likely look at the new offering from Accuphase. Now it's just a matter of how high to go and also if it's worth spending more on the preamp or on the DAC. I feel I would get more value from going to a dCS and upgrading the preamp later.
