Lots of great posts, I thought I would chime in on the Aurender. If you choose to use software as Roon or JRiver, then the Aurender product will not be for you. You should explore the software you like and then research which media servers will accept the software. For me the Aurender N10 was a great product but as it didn’t allow 3rd party software control(Roon) I found myself using a Mac mini more frequently. So it made it's way out of my system. There is great advice in the previous posts. Determine how you want to store and access your media along with the software.
