I very much enjoyed the Esoteric remaster of the Kleiber Beethoven, so I ordered the Böhm Pastoral remaster as well. This performance was selected as one of the 100 Greatest Recordings by Gramophone and it is quite good, so any gains in recorded sound are welcome. After a first hearing, the sonics on this SACD are a good improvement of the DG redbook release. There is more detail and an openness to the orchestral sound. I'm happy with this remaster.
