Some of those predictions and market impacts are already being delivered upon today but some are being presented or implied with unrealistic timelines. Watson is talked about a lot however they are not the only act in town and are not quite delivering all they say or promise. I have several customers who brought us in as they achieved no value from that platform after spending their first $70-$100M. It is doing alot of good as are its competitors but the soup is a long way from complete and done as they say. These are exceptions but the fact that software is designed and written by humans under budget, timeline and operational constraints run on platforms of hardware and software for which the aforementioned constraints are also true. Humans are imperfect,...further added to by the effects of these constraints, therefore what we design and build is never fully complete or perfect. In short, we are a LONG way off from the full promises in that infamous soliloquy regarding software eating the world, not needing lawyers, insurance companies' car insurance, etc......

Humans will indeed be disoriented right up to a point that we realize many things we count as personal freedoms like driving a car are being taken over by software,...then we'll get our shite together and realize that we want to retain a bit more hands-on involvement in our daily lives...😎 Opinion only....anybody ever heard of SKYNET?
