John Lennon
I don't usually do this. But, 37 years ago we lost him. It was one of the saddest days in my life. There were so many hopes and dreams crushed that night. I am sure many have a 'where were you' when you heard John Lennon was shot.
I was in college. Coming back to my room late studying for an organic chemistry final. My phone rang and a girl I knew called me upset telling me John was killed. I couldn't believe it. We sat on the phone for a bit just repeating 'I can't believe it...are they sure?' A guy we referred to as 'rock n roll johnny' was sitting in the hallway of the dorm crying. One of those times when there are no answers.
Things like this didn't happen in 1980. Thirty seven years later I still feel it.
