Yes, our established hierarchy through experience is to first isolate speakers as this does yield the best ROI and performance. Next, power related components. These components tend to generate more vibration due to transformers and other internal components. I am not surprised you realized better performance isolating the preamp power supply than the main preamp unit.

I can't stress enough experimenting with our products to find those locations that provide best performance.
