To many people were satisfied with the limited abilities to program and ease of getting a handful of equipment to work in a partial fashion. To bad they never realized the full capabilities.

...And I bet that iPhones, iPads with 'Remote' applications from most manufacturers now has some' to do with it (Logitech selling).
