Try Grado. Bright cans. Personally I love their mid centric energetic sound d that makes everything sound alive on them with musicality.

Now, the Grado 325e have that sound that I described, but with low end ready tuned into them it's really good. It embodies what you did described in original post.

Another example is the Grado 225i, which I couldn't stand. But with my Sony PHA -1A amp/DAC plugged I to them they sounded d great. It's that sparkling high end and mids but with some actual weight and slam on the low end.

Another set of cans I tried that seem to have a good tuning to include sparkling highs and still have good lows is the closed version of the Audeze EL-8. They are going for 340USD now on Audeze website.
