I just chose an MC275 VI over an MC152; also with a separately amped sub. The MC152 is a fine amp, but I was quick to prefer the warmth and soundstage of the MC275. Big picture though, I would never chose an amp in any way other than listening through my own speakers. Even sifting through the other advice on this thread, it's easy to see that some of us are predisposed to solid state, others to tubes. I'd suggest bringing an MC275 home for a few days. (I'm pretty sure you'll love it.) Good luck!
