I often hear comments like this, the "cones in a box" complaint.
I feel that, properly set up, none of the Wilson speakers sound like that. They sound "boxless and transparent" to me. I've heard ML many times, too. I think I understand what you are saying, but in my experience, it's not an issue with proper setup. Just my opinion.
I've never heard it, but I've heard XLF and Alexx, and there's no way WAMM sounds like "cones in a box".
