Indeed. Here in the Bay Area, the main Hayward in the East Bay fault runs right through a line of hospitals, Hwy 13, and Cal Berkeley. It seems in California there is an odd coincidence of key infrastructures being built right on fault lines. IIRC, the Northridge quake was on such a fault line.
