I will have to check this out - I'm re-reading "Pacific Crucible" by Ian Toll since his 3rd volume of the sea war in the Pacific just came out, and Midway will be the next chapter I reach. Highly recommended for a thorough understanding of the full scope of that aspect of the war. Ivan, that's a great story about your dad and his contribution.
