Adhesiv,

I've had the Arome for only 3 weeks, but I'm pretty happy with it. I put the Pace Car in between the source (UnitiServe) and the DAC. I wasn't unhappy with the UnitiServe directly to the DAC, but I read a lot about jitter reduction, and I thought I 'd give it a try. After adding it, I noticed details in recordings I never heard before - recordings I've had for 25+yrs that I know well. Then I took it out, and they disappeared. Some say that jitter reduction is a scam, but it's not, if you have a good device like the Pace Car. It also enables a DAC with an older design to compete with the newer designs, like the MiniMax Plus, which I also have. Side-by-side, I prefer the AN with the Pace Car - but it is definitley more expensive.

Here's my current signal path:

Naim UnitiServe to Pace Car with an A23 (75 ohm)
Pace Car to DAC with A23 cable (75 ohm)
DAC to Arome with A23 cable (XLR)
Arome to Monbrison with Shindo cable (RCA)
Monbrison to Montrachet with Shindo cable (RCA)

so yes, quite a bit of cable, but each are 1m or less.

Build time on the DAC is tough to say, but probably 2-3 weeks of 2 hours per night.

Dave
