Default McIntosh Oldies....

Hello Folks,

Over the last 20 years, I bought and sold a pretty fair amount of audio gear from very various brands.
What seem to stick to my skin and my house are vintage McIntosh gear.
Each time that I consider selling one, I step back. (Only exception was my beloved 2205 amp and I deeply regret I sold it.)
I do not find them "lovely" or keep them for collectible reasons. Very simply, when I turn them on, I am just amazed by their sound and the way they "massage" my soul. I just keep telling myself : " Oh My ! McIntosh really knew how to do it right from the start".
I had a full 1000 series set up with 2301's amps. And many other modern Mcs. They all left my house except the MDA1000. They were excellent but I just did not fell in love with them the same way I am with my vintage gear.

I am lucky to own a MR77 tuner, a Mac 1500 receiver, a MA5100 integrated, a MC2100 power amp, and the king, the MC225 power amp.
And my only "modern" McIntosh left is the MDA1000 dac.
In the living room, the signal from the MDA1000 goes to.....the Mac1500 receiver !

What are your vintage Mc gear and why do you keep them ?
