Default Do no harm!

The 125mA fuse on the C2300 main PCB protects the high voltage power supply in case of a catastrophic tube failure. Without actually measuring the current flowing through it, or checking with the manufacturer, you'd be gambling against the designer that chose that fuse size to begin with. A smaller fuse will do no harm, so if you're feeling lucky, go for it.
It will be interesting to see if you can hear a difference after replacing it.
