I had both Cortese f2a (original version) and 300b (new version).
In my system (VR + Flamenco), f2a presented more dispersed and neutral sound. Compared to f2a, 300b had more focused, dense, detailed sound. I was also surprised that 300b sounded more dynamic despite of its lower power rating.
I also read Roland Kraft's review on f2a vs 300b and tried to be a connoisseurs but I found myself liking 300b better. I wonder if the expensive WE 300b contributed some but I ended up selling f2a and kept 300b.
