Is it possible my listening room accoustics is mitigating the differences between various speakers that otherwise should not sound as good as they do?
Over time, my brother has stopped by with several pair of bookshelf speakers ranging from vintage and cheap to the pair of B&W 805’s I sold him. Today he brought over a brand new pair of Pioneer (Andrew Jones designed) SP-BS22-LR fresh out of the box. All sound very good, but I definitely get fatigued easily with some.
I’m not saying I can’t tell the difference, I certainly can, but speakers that sound like crap at his place, sound well above their class at my house.
It has to be room accoustics, no?
