It is a really special beer. It seems to have many layers of flavour like a fine wine. No one flavour dominates. Easily my favourite.

If you go back, pop into the adjacent deVrede cafe next to the abbey. They make home made ice cream with the Westvleteren 12 which is really special.

I'm currently enjoying some Rochefort 12 which is another favourite of mine. Well worth trying!
