Interesting.
I recently heard an interview of Ken Ball of Campfire Audio by John Darko that he's recently started making IEMs using a ceramic shell. Ken was saying that one of the issues with working with ceramics was they were prone to failure modes e.g. getting voids or bubbles in the ceramic, and obtaining consistently high manufacturing yields is quite challenging.
