Post 1st set of Pics, HT completed with Drywall-Repair & Rosco Velvet Flat Black paint ...

Guys,

I will try to take my time doing the text as well as adding all the pictures but I'm not a professional typist guys.
Let's get started with what was done and what anyone seeing and reading this is wanting to see and read about.
For those that might not know me I'll take a minute and explain why I do these lengthy, picture heavy post.
(1) Because I am of the opinion HT guys like to see in great detail what the other person is and has done like me.
(2) The other reason is I happen to be an older guy (73) and I have been into the HT thing for a great many years and that guys is my thing on my budget.
(3) Lastly, I do take lots & Lots & lots of pictures as my opinion is the more the better so the other person can actually see just how involved was the processes.

Here we go as to how this 2018 project actually got started as honestly it was not going to start until after the Trade-Shows in 2019.
Why ???
I wanted to see what specifically JVC was going to introduce in 2019 like maybe a new RS4500 Series-2 or maybe a Laser based NX9.
I was thinking if either or both of those things took place just maybe I could purchase a New JVC RS4500 at a {Greatly-Reduced-Price} if there were still some of the 1st generation RS4500s in stock.
Well, the above was my plan and also while waiting for that to take place I would be saving on a monthly basis my full retirement a lot of US dollars for over a year.
So, what interrupted that great well thought out plane guys ???
A (Blame) goes to a guy I met on this AVS Internet Site and I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning his name, Mike Garrett.
In this thread above I have already covered what took place with Mike so I won't bore you with a detailed accounting of that other than to say I purchased a New (Demo) RS4500 from him.
And with that taking place above with Mike G. brought on a complete up dating to the HT.
New Marantz AV8805 Pre-Amp processor, recently the Panasonic UB820 4K DVD player (Thanks again Mike G) and a totally awesome repaint of the complete HT just completed.

The pictures below will be covering the completion of the drywall repair as well as the total repainting of the HT in detail.
I am going to mention somethings regarding the above ^^^
The main painter had 31-years of experience and his assistant was certainly not new to it either.
They came in and each day just went to work and believe it or not there was what many of us refer to as, No-Small-Talk.

When you see the Red Arrows I did that so your eyes would go instantly to the area I wanted you to see without you having to maybe guess at what I wanted you to actually see.

They are sanding the drywall repairs.

He is now vacuuming all the drywall, baseboards, top of screen & drop clothes etc to remove as much drywall dust as possible.
You Do-Not want any White-Dust blowing around and ending up on the Solid-Flat-Black HT.

All vacuuming completed and as you can see it's all sanded.

As I said above we discussed it and the decision was made to apply a base coat of Flat-Black paint (Before) using the Rosco Velvet Flat-Black-Paint.
The thinking was the darker the drywall was the better and also not to waste the Rosco-Velvet-Flat-Black-Paint to just cover up the Dark Burgundy.
That was really the Main Painter guy that came up with that idea.

I should also mention that they Sprayed the Sconce Light Base-Plates as well as the Brass Closet-Door-Hinges with Primer before they painted them black.

Sconce Light being painted black I spoke of that have been sprayed with Primer already for the Black to stick.

2nd post with pictures.

Rosco 2nd coat pictures.

They brought in 2-Ladies to (CAREFULLY) pick up the Drop-Cloths, remove plastic, vacuum while the painters completed 2nd coat of Rosco Velvet Flat Black.
The Ladies were "NOT" allowed to remove the plastic on the JVC RS4500 or the Stewart Gray-Hawk 123" 16x9 screen.

Closet in Home Theater.

Cleaning Ladies and Main painter removing plastic from JVC RS4500.
He and his Assistant also removed the plastic from the screen but I was so excited watching them I forgot to take any picture. LOL !!!

End of 2nd set of pictures this post:

3rd post with pictures.

All trim, doors, Component Area, Sconces plus the Custom Rear-Surround Speaker Stands for 1st & 2nd coats of the Rosco Velvet Flat Black.
The main painter also asked me if I wanted to leave all the Plastic Electrical Covers on the electrical outlets and he would paint them with the Rosco.
As you will see below everything in the Home Theater is now painted with the Rosco Velvet Flat Black Paint.
They have already had the 1st coat of Black-Primer.

Completed Home Theater pictures with my trusty Samsung Galaxy 7 cellphone used for all pictures.
Hopefully even though I totally realize these actually are a Piss-Poor-Excuse of actually showing what the Rosco Velvet Flat Black Paint really looks like.
Anyway I did give it a try and maybe some of you that have experience in a dedicated HT with Zero-Light in it realize you can't take pictures of a Totally-Black-HT.
I guess all I can add is to tell you it looks KILLER guys and when my wife came up she said and I quote, honey it looks like a,
Real-Commercial-Home Theater now.
