Three Guys in the Five-0 State
 

I wanted to share a GREAT time I had at a local AA members house here in Hawaii. His name is Dario aka dcanlas

Jingo aka four02 and myself were invited to Dario's lovely home in the late afternoon and didn't leave until the early evening.I wasn't expecting this but he had also prepared a great meal for us too....grilled rib eye steak,grilled swordfish (mmm), veggies, and rice.

His main system...501's,2300,871 and Dali speakers were playing thru the afternoon. Great music was coming out of that system....wide soundstage, the clarity of the mid and highs were most evident. He played a variety of music of male and female vocals but what I enjoyed most was Houston Person "The Art and Soul". That was a winner for me.

His vinyl rig is something else....C22,MC75 60th Anniversary Editions,JMLAB Micro Utopia BE's, and his drool-worthy VPI TT. I don't get a chance to hear the black disc very often but boy,did that sound GOOD! My favorite of the night...Gene Ammons "Soulful Moods" and Nat King Cole. Dang...wouldn't you know it...that Gene Ammons is in vinyl only. :sigh: I mentioned to Dario that I had no intention of going back into vinyl again... but....on the drive back home, I was thinking :scratch2:

I think Jingo was eyeing that 2300 :paranoid:....don't worry, yours is coming next week.Although I've been to Jingo's beautiful place before,I can't wait for your 2300 also. :yes:

Once again...A BIG THANK YOU to our host Dario....you made us feel very welcome in your lovely home. We're gonna have to do this again.

Dario.......Your system is beautiful. Lavon's photos do a nice job of letting us see how well you have assemble your system. What a great host. :thgumbsup:

Sounds like a wonderful day. Thanks for the photos. I have always enjoyed the Dali speakers. One of the local dealers here matches them up with McIntosh quote often.
