Am I supposed to use a particular rectifier with the 6V6's?

The nos GE is rather good, even in the first few hours. I will have to swap the RCA and a Valve Arts 274B in and out later to be sure, but I am happy so far.
I am using GL KT77s at the moment.

Best I remember, older ST 6V6 need the lower powered 5Y3s. Newer production 6V6GTs can use a 5Z4 which is similar to the 5Y3 with less voltage drop.

The 6V6GT's can take a 5AR4. I use a U52 with my Pope 6V6GT's. The 5Y3 is safe with every 6V6.

A 5AR4 is also a good pairing with the KT77's. When I asked Dennis, he wrote me "KT77, KT-88, KT-90, 6550, EL34 will work just fine with the higher voltage."

I am currently running a pair of Gold Lion KT77's with a NOS Tungsol VT229, and a Mullard f31 "fat base" 5AR4. When I was working with Dennis on getting my amp built, he recommended KT77's as a good match for my ProAc speakers.

I couldnt help myself, picked up another 596 tube from the auction site. A bit of a fire sale happening. Now I wont have to choose between my LP-2 and Power amp. That PSE amp looks fantasitic, metalic orange with envy!

Just a heads up, on my local CL (Vancouver, canada) There is a pair of heavily modified(by Dennis) Sweet 807 amps. They have been configured to run as parralel single ended monos or stand alone stereo amps. The output trannys and Power supply transformers have also been upgraded. 21watts per channel mono and 12 watts per channel as stereo amp. Canadian dollars might be tempting for some of you...
(I do not know the seller, just passing the info on)

Has anyone subbed in 807 tubes by way of adapters yet? Currious on the audio merits of the 807 vs the 6L6/6V6 equivilants.....

I use them quite often - RCA Blackplate 807's. Sound is similar to a 6L6GC, but I find they have a bit more extension on each end of the freq spectrum. Certainly more low end. That's typical for the classic RCA BP 6L6GC and this is essentially the same tube with the top cap.

They're very inexpensive. Just get good quality adapters.
