PS Audio Power Plant 20

Looks like PS Audio will introduce their new Power Plant 20 at RMAF 2017. It certainly looks good.

I like the handles and the large centered touch screen. It appears to be an OLED color screen. Judging from what is printed above the IEC power socket, the P20 Power Plant will support a maximum total load capacity of 13.3 amps.

I think this is going to be a big hit for PS Audio. It’s got both performance and good looks.

Dan... it seems they changed this, the prototype handled up to 30 amps. None the less, it looks like a great unit.

I caught wind of a retail price of $7999 but that may have changed.

Ivan.......It is possible the specifications are still in flux. Final production models will reveal the actual specifications. It is a fine looking power conditioner but $8K is a tough nut to swallow, especially if the load capacity really is only 13.3 amps.

There will be in a pair of P20s featured in an extraordinary system in the Spruce One room at RMAF 2017, and will be demonstrated by PS Founder/CEO Paul McGowan. The source will be the DirectStream Memory Player (DMP), feeding the DirectStream DAC, BHK Signature Preamplifier, and a pair of BHK Signature 300 Amplifiers. Speakers will be the Focal Sopra No. 3, along with a pair of REL 212/SE subwoofers. AC power cords will be by PS Audio, and interconnects are by MG Audio Design. All stands and racks will be provided by Fin Art.

The P20 will be 25% taller than a P10 and it has your choice of a 20 amp IEC or a 15 amp IEC on the rear. Handles will not be removable. January 2018 release date to consumer.

One reason to visit IMO -- At the show, PS will give away a Stellar Gain Cell DAC and matching Stellar S300 Power Amplifier, valued at $3,198 USD. Registration for the drawing will be in the exhibit room.

Final reason to attend a showing - PS Audio will host informal receptions in Spruce One with beer and wine at the end of the show-day, Friday and Saturday.

Best Sirs,

Bob

25% height increase over a P10 would put it at 10.625 inches -- about the same as the glass height measurement of a MC2301 -- Tall sucker she'll be.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Straight from PS Audio today:

Here are some of the specifics:

20 amp/15 amp choices
25% physically larger than P10
40% more output power than P10
Three times lower output impedance than P10
Three times more energy storage than P10
Twice the output devices than P10
Dramatically lower distortion than P10
Removes the miles of power cables between your home and the power station. The P20 is the world’s first device that is the equivalent of moving your home to within 50 feet of the city power station.

PS> I am slated to get a P20 Beta unit before years end. ;)

My P10 looks like a shoe box compared with the new P20 :tears:

I want it.
