From there what do i do? i have only uploaded pics to audiogon where you hit a browse button in the pics area of your ad and all the picures loaded into your computer come up for you.to chose from.
Again thanks for your help with my learning curve. ray

Can you embed a photo straight from your own computer or must it first be saved on some photo site (like photobucket) on the internet.

Presently, I do not have such an account.

Masterlu 10-19-2012 07:24 PM

Bump...

Pider 10-19-2012 08:51 PM

Yes you can. What type of computer or tablet do you have so I can be specific? PC or Apple?

Yes you can, upload your pic(s) by selecting the "go advanced" button when making a post. Then select "manage attachments" navigate to the pic on your computer using the browse button, then upload it.

tdelahanty 11-09-2012 05:58 AM

Thanks Ivan, I'll take some pics today when I put the system back in order. (box-up the SA7S1 for shipping)

Dirt Ft. 12-10-2012 08:59 PM

I found the go advanced but have been unable to find the manage attachments button/link to imbed/insert direct from my computer. Any more pointers?

Ken

Ivan , going advanced and managing attachments results in attaching thumbnails , one can not embed in this manner is that correct . How do I create an URL for pics on my comp, or do I have to upload to an external site to create one . Thanks.

You can create a public album (from your User CP) & copy the URL tag from the pictures you have uploaded to that album to paste into your thread.

Still do not get it ... how do you create an url for pics on your comp ... uuugghhh :confused-22:

-E- 01-16-2013 02:47 PM

Jazzhead,

You must upload them. You cannot "create a URL" that points back to your local computer.

As a subscriber, though, you can upload quite a bit (it will take the picture from your computer and upload it to AA), and then link it in a post.

Alternatively, you can do this through an external site like imageshack.us or something like that - but you really don't need to as a Subscriber+ to AA.

:thumbsup:Vesuvius , LordoftheRings thanks for the tips . Cheers

Bump for all New Members.

gaboudreaux 01-21-2017 03:03 PM

I know how to upload thumbnail pictures, but not a full picture. Trying to upload full picture (not thumbnail) from my AA Picture Album. Even with the assorted instructions in previous posts, i just can't figure it out. I copied the URL from My Album Pics on AA, but it doesn't work. :confused-22:

Seems like enlarging photos is nearly a full time job for Dan.

SCAudiophile 01-22-2017 08:56 AM

It would be nice if the upload functionality could be modernized to take the image off the local drive when we do uploads and skip the thumbnail step requiring us to do manual steps to store fullsize images (via web links) and simply auto-expand it. There are precedents for this out there with this same forum software as well as using FileStack...

Unfortunately, I've learned to depend on Dan The Man also...

Yamaki 01-22-2017 12:33 PM

Really? It's soooo easy if you host the pics online at Imgur or Photobucket. It's just copy/paste the image URL into the "Insert Image" popup. Honest!

I will give that a try, but I thought you could achieve the same result by copy/paste the image URL in my AA Picture Album, but it didn't work.

The system or inserting photos? If it’s the system you’re testing, I hope you get to keep it[emoji41]

This is something I have not been able to figure out. How do I take a photo that is saved on my computer and embed it in my post without it being an attached thumbnail and without uploading it to another website? Nothing here explains that. Every image that I post comes up as an attached thumbnail, why can't I embed the image directly from my computer.

I could be mistaken, but I do not think it is possible to do it that way. You'll need to host the photo on other site, such as Flickr.

FreddieFerric 04-09-2022 09:52 AM

^^I believe you are correct.
