Hi Paul,
Could you share what kind of rings you purchased and if it made any difference?

Cheers,
Byung

Hi Byung,
Sorry for the slow reply, I bought four tr7 (44-48mm) rings from the tube shop and fitted them onto the top of my kt88s. They made a small difference to the density of the soundstage and I have kept them on the tubes. They are not an easy thing to trial since installing them, listening, cooling and removing then listening again slows the comparison, after several nights of on and off testing I kept them on.

The amps are Shindo cc80's and installing the rings does mean leaving the cages off as they will not fit over the rings (which I think is a better look anyway).

I must stress it was a very small difference and the least impactful tweak I have ever accepted into the system (my wife could hear no difference)

Regards,
Paul

Herbie's Tube Dampers are the best in my experience. Also, floating tube components on Stillpoints make a very significant improvement!
