David.......The C1000 Premium remote control will not operate the C220, or the C2200 preamps. It will operate the C2300, C500, and the C1000 preamplifiers. It also operates the MCD500.
To be honest, the Premium metal remote is uncomfortable to use. It is heavy, it is cold when you pick it up, the tactile feel of the buttons are a bit mushy, and the battery cover on the back requires a phillips head screw driver to install batteries. It is pretty to look at, but cumbersome to use. I store mine in its pouch, and use the black plastic, full function remote that also comes with the C1000. http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...etalRemote.jpg |
Thanks for a honest review of the metal remote. It is nice to know that you will say when something is good and when it isn't:thumbsup:

I like the metal one. While I agree with Dan above on most of his points, I prefer the minimal approach by just having a few buttons to memorize and not have to look at it. It seems well laid out for a right hander, not sure how it work for a lefty.
Perhaps if I had more than one source or had a need for multi-function, my view would change but the metal provides me with all the control I need at this time. Gordon |
Yes, but it's a 10 on the cool factor!

If you want to smack someone in the head, the metal remote works best. For daily use, outside of smacking someone in the head, I use the black plastic one.
