Apertures
2 Attachment(s)
I finally got around to experimenting with the 2 Aperture panels I picked up from Ivan a month or so ago.
I installed them in a stacked form directly between my speakers about 12” above the floor. This space had previously held a GIK 244 panel and is sandwiched between 4 Vicoustics 2’x4’ Waveguide panels. The change in sound was extreme and it took my brain some time to adjust. Simply said, the sound stage stayed pinpoint centered but ‘filled’ in and became more coherent across the front. That was a nice improvement. But the biggest and most noticeable change was the increase in midrange volume and overall detail. I don’t know how they work but they certainly impact the sound in my room and so far, in a very positive way. Here’s a picture of the current look. https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...9&d=1535832534 The before picture with the GIK panel. Attachment 56260 . |
Craig... that’s great to hear; I agree they do perform extremely well.

Craig, good to hear - they look nicely placed as well

Craig,
Beautiful. Well done. |
Congrats Craig. Looks awesome. I’m pleased to say that I will enter the dedicated room crowd in the next year or so. Can’t wait to tune the room.

Woohoo what’s the plan? You adding on to your beautiful home or moving? |
Adding on. Last renovation before retirement.

My only comment about Apertures is why on earth would you make them 22 1/4” Square? Why not 24”?
|
So you'll replace the panels on the sides of them which are a perfect 48 and don't line up, with more Apertures lol.
