MQA software update — worth it?

Have any of you purchased the mqa software update for your Aurender? Worth the $50? Is it noticeably better? If so, how so?

Am surprised you have to pay for same. I'll strike Aurender off my list of DAC candidates.

I have Lumin , and there the updates are free :)

I thought of the MQA for Aurender as more of an install of another feature than as an update. All of the updates after the first install have been free. I found the $50 expense to be one of my best bang for the buck purchases. I do have Tidal MQA streamed into a MQA DAC and am loving it.

Nothing is free when it comes to goods and services.

I believe that the Aurender units that have a DAC already handle MQA. The servers (which don't have DACs) do not have MQA integrated.

Updates to the device and app are free, but they charge by unit to support initial MQA unfolding.

Please elaborate if what you wrote was related to the Lumin.
