Long balances interconnect suggestions?
In my new room, I am going to need about a 20 foot balanced interconnect run between pre and two mono blocks. Given the length, this could break the bank quickly, so I’m looking to get something that plays above its dollar weight.
Balance of cables are Verastarr and some Final Touch Audio (which will likely expand in the system). All suggestions appreciated - nothing super cheap and nothing super expensive (whatever that means). Triode wire labs is in the running (seems to balance $$ and performance). Thanks. |
Jim... in all my years experience, nothing has outperformed WW Silver Eclipse XLR/XLR In very long runs such as yours. Price vs performance is extraordinary with these cables.
PS: I have a 75’ run of these that still amaze me to this day. |

And Ivan can get these for you at a good price ... contingent on the factory's current operating status during Covid, of course. I'm very pleased with the 22-foot pair I bought from him. |

When it comes to cables, Ivan is connected. |
I like expensive audiophile gear as much as any 'phile, but before spending a bunch of money on this, I suggest trying a cable pair made with Mogami 2534 Neglex balanced microphone cable and Neutrik connectors. You can find these pre-made or built to order. In your size, should be less than $100. Don't let the price dissuade you. Do a little Web research and you'll see. Do an A/B/A comparison with any 10ft+ balanced cable less than $5k.
