Ever curious, I decided to swap my gm70's for we300b's. I hope that I will love the change, but i am nervous given how much I like the dynamic nature (slam) of the gm70's. But the order is placed...

Congrats Freestone, I'm sure you'll love it - WE300B'd are a holy grail amp!
Now I'll just selfishly hope that Ken builds my CCQ's before he builds your WE300B's. That's 2 of us waiting on some pretty sweet amps at the moment! |
Thanks. And I think it's only fair he builds yours first. Yours sound great.
I just need to decide now on the big Latours...then no more decisions. |
Nice one!
The big latour are inevitable, you might aswell pull the trigger now while the finger is still itchy.. |

I do like the giscours. It's a good place to be. Though I enjoy Petrvs as a wine for sure! :) |

Congratulations Richard !
You will know enjoy a true balanced connection between the Giscours and the WE 300B. I doubt that you will loose anything compared to the Lafon.... |

Wow, Freestone. Can you offer any insight as to why you made the change? I, too, have the gm70's and love then. But they are a different animal than the 300bs that I have (different brand). That said, I recently redid my music room and now have the gm's in a custom and open cabinet. Sort of like your set up was. But I'm surprised by how hot they are and how they heat a shelve above them. So I've begun wondering about grand master kens 300b, which I know will be cooler in a relative context.
Regardless, please keep us all posted. And congratulations on having fun along your journey. I suspect that magnificent room of yours will be even more magical! J |
