Just got it. I will pay the sbscription via paypal now. Ok? |
I just added 3 new Aperture II panels. So far I have replaced the 2 version 1 Apertures with 2 Version 2 panels and like the Liberty Mutual commercial, I got more! ;). The entire stage became deeper and more coherent from left to right. Easily heard.
I have not settled on the position of the remaining 1 Version 2 and the original 2 version 1 Aperture panels. Because I am using the long wall in n my room, the side first reflections points are not a huge concern. I think I will experiment with placing two panels directly behind my speakers and the one version 2 Aperture directly behind my listening position. I have now removed all GIK 244s and Monster panels from my room. Only the bass corner traps remain. |
Cool Beans

Just replaced two GIK panels I was using as nearfield sound treatments because my listening position is very close to a sidewall due to the asymetrical location of the system and speakers with
the Aperture II panels and must agree with the improvements already mentioned.Far better reflection control and the soundstage is much deeper and focus has slightly increased. I'm sure to discover other improvements as I listen more, but right now I can definitely say I'm really pleased! A worthwhile improvement made better by a good deal from Ivan. Thanks! |

The darned thing works!
Late this morning UPS delivered an Aperture 2 that I installed in my bedroom audio system. I hung it as shown below at the front-wall center position between my Paradigm Studio 20s, replacing a 2'x4' GIK Alpha 4A panel that had previously occupied that space.
https://www.audioaficionado.org/pict...pictureid=5138 I spent about an hour listening to a variety of familiar classical, jazz, and choral program. My initial takeaway: It decisively improves center-image focus, bass presentation in both heft and definition, soundstage depth, and the rendering of dynamic contrast. Color me blown-away. Which means I'll be doing more "redecorating" of the bedroom walls, a piece or two at a time. So stand by, Ivan. |
Jim... Very glad to know you are pleased with your first Aperture II panel. :)
