Matching Stain Color of Stradivaris?

Anyone out there who have an idea how to come as close as possible to matching the stain color of the Strads?

I am not looking for an exact match.

Craig - you would soon be wishing you had your C7 back or, even better, a new C8.

Crickets from McIntosh group...

Any wood workers out there with ideas? I am thinking of staining/painting my BOOS blocks used under my amplifiers in a scheme similar to the Strads. Then lay on a few coats of varnish. Not trying to compete with the Masters at SF.

You can take a paint / stain sample to sherwin Williams and they’ll mix you an exact match stain.

If you bring them wood in the same species (a sample) that you will be staining, they’ll even test the sample and tweak the color to get a close match.
