Power Surge

If you don't want to use a power conditioner, or a surge outlet, does anyone have a recommended product for surge protection?

I have a SurgeX box.

A Type 2 device such as a Leviton 51120-1 is one solution. Surge-X and ZeroSurge both make good Type 3 devices, imo.

The Leviton product looks interesting but it seems to be a Type 2 product as well. Is this the right product?

The Leviton brochure is pretty nice and helpful: Leviton Surge Supression

Power Surge

Furman is also a good option.

Whole house surge protection is the only way to go. Protects your entire household not just the computer or audio system. Surge is far more effective when installed at the service entrance. It is not particularly expensive. Then, make sure your home insurance policy includes your audio system or get a rider on the policy.

Or get a Big Rider on the policy. :naughty:

+1 for all this advice....

***Environmental Potentials EP-2050 whole-house waveform regenerator plus surge protection wired directly into the main house panel straight off the power feed from the mains...best < $1K (USD) expenditure I made for power....

Oops, you're correct. Thanks - good catch! The Leviton is Type 2, the others I suggested Type 3.
