Formation Series - Active and Wireless
 

Well, apparently I missed the hints that came out in February as a result of Apple listing 2 B&W entries on it's list of products that support Airplay 2. They were called Foundation Audio and Foundation Duo. B&W's twitter feed has been teasing a new announcement the past couple of days. If you search for Bowers Formation on Google, Best Buy has let the cat out of the bag with search results (that you can't click through to a live page yet) that include prices and a line of description.

Thanks for the info. I've seen the teasers on FB this week. So glad to see B&W enter the active speaker market. Here's hoping they offer floorstanders soon.

I truly hope B&W embraces fully active/wireless speakers, especially at the 600 series level. We have a Sonos h/t set-up in our bedroom and it has me longing for a higher end configuration like it in our main living/listening space.

Based on the brief description above of the higher end 2-way, it sounds like an active/wireless version of the 700 series.

Any rumor about the 800 series D4 scheduled to come out next year?

Amazing to think that it will be 5 years next September since the D3 release date.

It was reported at the time of the D3 release that the B&W R&D team were already working on the next 800 series iteration, so it will be interesting to see what they've managed to come up with in 12-18 month's time, if rumors are to be believed.
