Really?

$12,000.00

What can that kind of money bring to your sound system?

One of these.....

The MC 2301 looks way more impressive too.

Buck.......When I look at these two audio products I can't help but think of the engineering and design expertise, materials, build quality, assembly time and experience, among other things that represent the inherent and true value of each one. Like so many things in the audio world, I am often left scratching my head at the price of certain things. In my opinion, this is a classic example.

Yes, I agree......although full disclosure, other than what I've read in the audio rags, I don't know squat about designing and implementing what it takes to make a cartridge, so there's that. The Mac piece is truly an impressive piece of audio engineering, that's for sure.

Throw in Odin 2 power cables and scratch your head more

Cohibaman 08-19-2018 03:11 PM

But you’ll need two MC2301’s. :D

FWIW- There's a Lyra Atlas with reportedly 10 hours of use that recently sold on eBay for $5,900. I suspect an MC2301 with the same amount of use would've sold for considerably more...

Dan, I am not sure that anything makes sense price wise in this hobby. I shake my head every time I try and compare audio related products to something else such as a car. :dunno:

Just for grins I saw that Nordost Odin 2 Speaker Jumpers are $7K :yikes:

Lest we forget that the price of admission of door #1 is actually $24k since we need two for stereo. :sigh:
