I'm planning on getting one to play audio of concert DVDs in my two-channel system.

For those of you who own a Oppo 103/105 units, those two units allow you to rip SACDs. If you are into streaming and have SACDs, you might want to hold on to your 103/105 units. I read somewhere that the 103/105 units have high resale value because of their SACD ripping capabilities.

nicoff.......Once the new Oppo UDP-205 hits the market, providing it delivers what people expect, there will be plenty of videophiles upgrading to the new player and selling their old players. As far as ripping SACD's, it may be important to a very small minority of audiophiles, but I have doubts it will mean anything to the majority of folks who own a BDP105 for home theater use and wish to move up to the UDP-205. Used values will be determined by what people are willing to pay, not by what sellers want to charge. The market will self balance.

It will still stream files from a NAS/USB just like the 203 but have access to a better power supply and DAC circuits. That's my educated guess. They learned a lot from the Sonica DAC with the 9038 Pro and it is also used here. The Sonica has had rave reviews so I am hopeful. |
My bdp83 has just busted a nut, so looking at this as a replacement.

Looks like 17th hope more than one HDMI.
Specs say only one for audio so maybe what adopt the video. I like to feed my video to TV and audio only via RCA and HDMI to my MX150. |
:twisted:I couldn't wait I bought the 203 but I may get one and put the 203 in the basement system

Here we are more than half way through the month of April and still no release of the Oppo UDP-205. Their website still says Arriving in April 2017*. Then down at the bottom of the page is says, * - Projected. Actual release date tentative and subject to changes. There's less than two weeks left in this month. I wonder if Oppo will make the April projected deadline or not.
