Classic rock speaker?

After hearing the Wilson with a big ss amp, are Shindo electronics mated to a o/96 or petite latour good - no great - speakers for making Neil Young or Bob Seger play right in your room? Sure, female vocalists yes. But are they a great classic rock speaker? And which of the two is optimal?

Now those huge tannoya if serge or the big latours might be different.

the latours will make any musician BE in your room.

and the shindo gear will make any speaker sound wonderful

But the petite latour is much smaller...speaker and cabinet volume.

Ask a Shindo question .... get a Shindo answer. :D

I have Klipsch LaScala II's with 2 Velodyne DD10 Plus subs mated to my Shindo gear. Although I don't listen to much rock these days, they will knock you off your feet.
You need to go to Matts and listen for yourself.

Petite Latour mids and highs are compression driven horns. They will suit classic rock well. And they will make all music sound effortless. Field coil versions of these speakers (not just Shindo) take the effortless quality to a whole new level. Field coils just remove a tension in the sound that you did not know was there.

The O/96s will sound great but the Seas components in the O/96s won't have quite the dynamics and speed that a compression driven horn has (speed and dynamics are obviously good qualities for Classic Rock).

I know you've seen the video of my Tannoy Canterbury SE with some female vocals but believe me when I tell you they do everything well. You can ROCK out with them too. I was even listening to the Momentum monos with my Tannoy with fantastic results.

I have a Leben 660P mated with a Masseto driving Harbeth 40.1's. Definitely rock. The 40w Leben amp may be the primary reason for this, but the extended range of the Harbeth monitors make it seem like you're mixing the record in the studio.

Are you looking for a "classic rock" speaker or a classic "rock speaker"?

The answer to the two questions are different.
