Congratulations - Roger Federer

Congratulation to Roger Federer for Slam #18 against a resurgent Rafa Nadal in this year's Australian Open.

I watched the first half of the match, just amazing to see what Fed can do even at the ripe old age of 35 is amazing......excellent match.

Incredible indeed, very impressed with this -still- young man.

Pretty unvelievable that the phenomenal timing for the approach-volley sequence has not gone! Joy to watch.

Indeed a fantastic match.
Congrats Roger!!
The best tennis player ever continues his career.

And I keep telling my friends this -being the best ever, a total legend etc I got to see how he treated people, how approachable he is, and how spartan too. Running around (local club) Concordia Bale with the racquets on his backpack, being friendly and polite though not really liking the constant autograph requests, and just jumping into a tram back home.

For stuff like this I always want twice as hard that RF succeeds every time.

Saw the re-broadcast of this incredible match. Though I knew what the final outcome was beforehand, it was still amazing to see RF's mental toughness in situations where it would be so easy to just cave-in.

Just from seeing interviews with him, I get the sense that he is a nice guy. However, I do miss seeing characters like Connors, and McEnroe.

I also heard rumors of possible retirement...

frahengeo, first of all a warm welcome to AA!
I am with you on this one: Connors, McEnroe added fire to the game.

Pete was the last great American Men's tennis player and has 14 grand slam titles. But Roger has 18 and is probably the best of all time.

Pete was great. I don't think he ever thought that he would be surpassed so quickly! By Federer, Then Nadal, and still possibly Djokovic.
