Classe Sigma 2200i

Anybody here owns this amp? I would like to know if any of the inputs includes Home Theater Bypass capabilities so that I can use this amp for stereo and connect it to an AVR/Processor for Home Theater duties.

Hi silversurfer6,

I'm pretty sure the 2200i has a HT bypass capability. When I get into the office later this morning I'll verify.

I hate to say this but the Classe 2200's strength is really as a way to use audio and video sources in a 2 channel system.

If you were going to add an AV receiver there are probably other preamps in that price range that are dedicated for 2 channel use and have HT bypass.

Another option is to get the Sigma SSP if you want the full HT experience. Or maybe wait for the revised Delta if you want more than 7 channels.

Hi silversurfer6,

If you use one of the analog inputs to attach the 2200i to your home theater processor/AVR and set the volume to "0.0" that is unity gain, which is the same as a home theater bypass.

Patrick

Keep in mind that Classe' is no longer a viable company. You may be buying a product that will no longer be supported as good as it might have been.

Steve54- perhaps this discussion should be clarified. What is the basis in fact of your assertion that Classe' is no longer a viable company? It seems to me before a post like this is issued, you should have factual information from Classe' themselves, attributable to a leader in the company who has the responsibility of communicating the company's status. With whom did you speak?

Thank you for posting the letter. The only substantive thing it says is that a new Classe' series under development has been cancelled.
