Amp for JBL
First time JBL user and need recordation on witch amp and speaker cables to use on JBL 4365 speaker.
I just got them home and i have sold all my equipment, so i hav´nt heard them yet. What i can read is that Macintosh is a great choice for JBL in general and that they need a lot of power. I´m looking for vintage amplifier and preamp and i have around 9000,- euros to spend. What can you recommend. Oldschool Krell, Mark Levinson, Mcintosh others? Thanks Pierre |
I'm using a Krell with my 4343's and it sounds great but the JBLs need little power. At least the ones I have don't. I don't believe in spending much money on cables. So I have no opinion on those.

Great to see you on the forum! Mark |
I was using McIntosh MC601's on my JBL 4365 speakers. Currently using a Marantz PM-10/SA-10 combo. Sounds great to me.

Will a vintage audio research tube amp like for example a D79 work w/ a 4344 or 4343 or an L300?

Thanks Masterlu for your reply . I hope it will sound good as well w/ vintage ARC electronics . Seldom see people using ARC w/ JBL’s , mostly they’re using Mcintosh. I have a 4312B that I left in the home of my parents but they would need some work. Always dreamed of a L300 back in the day when our family had the L65 .

Using a Leben CS600X with my 4429s right now, but looking into getting a McIntosh.
