Headphone system advice.

Hi all.

Don't get out much anymore but it sure is good to touch base now and again. I've been checking out the headphones forum here at AA and trying to accumulate some knowledge. But I always like to touch base with my Machead buddies for one main reason. Mac people know how realistic, musically soothing the Mac delivery is. So you guys know exactly what I'm looking for. Keep in mind my primary system is the MCD/MDA1000, 4x501's, XVR1 crossover and maggie 20.1s. So I'm hoping to possibly venture in to the high end headspeaker market with the absolute necessity of maintaining my Mac musicality.

If a guy had 5 to 10k to invest in a head speaker system, what would you guys suggest? Been reading about Stax 404 and Sen hd800 for headphones but open to opinions.

I had a Sennheiser / Headroom Max / Wadia 21 cd player combo that was impressive, and comparable to the rich sound I get from my main McIntosh system.

Happy hunting, there are lots of great choices in your budget range.
