New GIK room treatments

6 Attachment(s)
So I got my new Gik room treatment tonight. I didn't go crazy, I wanted the room to still look good. I got six of the new impression series diffuser / absorbers . I also got two absorber panels to cover most of the big window that is in the room. I put them all up and there's definitely a nice Improvement in the sound. It's not earth shattering but it is a nice noticeable quality bump. It sounds a little bit smoother while also more focused. Quiet little details are definitely more noticeable and the voices of singers are more distinctive and realistic on the stage. Here's some photos. I'm posting two pictures of the one on the rear wall because I installed it so I can move to the left which is as close as possible to directly behind me and it can also be centered which looks better. Mostly it will be centered directly behind me while listening. Attachment 56509Attachment 56510Attachment 56511Attachment 56512Attachment 56513Attachment 56514

Interesting design... GIK make's some nice stuff. I use several of their absorption panels to help tame my room. Very effective and affordable.

Congrats!

I just put some up, also. Mine are the basic 242's, kind of plain/ugly, but VERY effective. I am still shocked at the improvement I got from this upgrade. I put some on the ceiling, too.

Thanks, yeah the 242s work good. The 2 large ones blocking my windows are 242s I think.

Those are the ones I have too...only not as wide. Their bland looking, but do the job.

Thinking about getting bass traps for the front corners.

Thanks, I always shoot for a compromise of looks and sound quality.

So I didn't like the uneven top row. Found out my imac can be wall mounted. Moved it to the wall and up a bit. That allowed me to align the top center panel with outer ones. Looks better now I think. Also, I'm about to get 2 bass traps for the front corners (still deciding onthe type) and a panel to cover the imac while listening. Attachment 56635
