Woohoo, Krell S-1200 on the way!!!

Well, I sold the Marantz AV8801, and finally pulled the trigger on an upscale processor, the S1200. I am super excited. Hopefully this can be the all-in-one, one box solution. Thanks to Serge (PHC1) and Rich (New Guy) for their gracious answers to all my questions. Hoping it will be here by next week.

Congrats Jeff!
Keep us posted about how it compares to the Marantz.

Jeff,

Congratulations on your new S1200. Once you have settle in with it, try swapping out the cord. I use a shunyata Cobra ZiTron and it made a difference.

Thanks Bart and Rich. I probably should have just added this to the previous S1200 thread, and I will add commentary there as well.

Rich, I have never been a cable guy, and use lower end Audioquest ICs and SC, and stock PCs. However, I'm taking a baby step in your direction as I just got some Shunyata Venom 3 PCs for my Mac 452 amp, Oppo BDP95, and the S1200. We'll see if I notice any improvement (part of me wants to be a non-believer so I don't have to spend inordinate amounts of money on cables too, lol!!!)

Jeff congrats on the Krell :)

Jeff - that's great great news! The Krell will be a killer sounding unit no doubt.

I understand what you mean. I started out with an entry level Shunyata cord that friend loaned me.

With my engineering background I was extremely skeptical of power cords and cables as well. From a technical standpoint, power cord should not make any difference if it's made properly with the correct wire size.

I look forward to your impression of the S1200.

Rich

Wow! That is a beauty! I'd love to get an S-1200, but it's a little out of the price range, so I'm may be getting the Foundation. I definitely prefer the looks of the S-1200 though. Congratulations! I can't wait to hear what you think of it - especially following the Marantz AV8801, which lots of folks are raving over and selling their Classe SSP-800 processors to get one.

Dave
